  • What is the Theme of the wedding?
There is no specific theme or dress code for the wedding, as it will be a two-day celebration of the traditional Hindu classic wedding ceremony. However, we kindly request that you dress appropriately for the occasion. Please also keep in mind that Bhutan can be quite cold during this time, so we recommend choosing your attire with the weather in mind to stay comfortable throughout the event.
  • If you are a smoker, please read this...
In Bhutan, smoking is strictly regulated and is only permitted in designated areas marked with clear signboards. Smoking in public spaces is prohibited, and violators must adhere to these rules. Please also be aware that as it is winter, the dry leaves and surroundings are highly susceptible to catching fire. Kindly be mindful of where you smoke and ensure that cigarette butts are properly disposed of to prevent any fire hazards. You are strictly prohibited to smoke in the forest and in the open air of Olathang for any mishap.
  • If I want to dress in Bhutanese way at the ceremony, how should I go about?
That sounds wonderful! You’ll definitely outshine everyone with your choice of attire. In Bhutan, traditional dress is a key part of our culture. Men typically wear the Gho, while women wear the Kira. For special occasions like this one, Bhutanese people often wear colorful, handwoven dresses, which come in a range of styles and prices to suit all budgets. If you’d like any recommendations or need assistance finding the perfect dress, we have a store offering both Bhutanese dresses for men and women. Feel free to contact us, and we’ll be happy to guide you through the options.

It’s truly a place worth exploring. Depending on how long you plan to stay, you can discover the unique charm of various places like Paro, Thimphu, Wangdue, and Punakha. For those extending their stay, a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) will be applicable: INR 1,200 per night for passport holders from SAARC countries, and USD 100 per night for all other international guests. Please note that the wedding period from 12th to 14th February is already covered in the package, and no additional fee will apply for these dates.
